Another credit-rating boost for Atlantic City is drawing applause from Gov. Phil Murphy and other officials as the resort continues to make progress during the state’s ongoing emergency takeover.

Wall Street credit-rating firm Moody’s Investors Service lifted Atlantic City’s debt grade by two steps last week, while also awarding the resort a “stable” credit outlook.

I am honored to report to you my 30th State of the Borough of Woodbine, on this second day of this New Year, while wishing my best for the rest of the season — with Orthodox Christmas Day (also known as “Little Christmas”) and Los Tres Reyes, the Feast of the Three Kings, yet to be celebrated.

The Assembly election has been over for a month, which means Assembly Democrats yesterday were able to finally begin advancing their bill to allow undocumented immigrants to get driver’s licenses with less fear of political blowback.

A 25-year-old man robbed a bank, two convenience stores and was involved in a shooting in a five-day span late last month, authorities said.

Edwin Ruiz-Rosa, of Pleasantville, was arrested Nov. 30, less than an hour after Atlantic City police said he robbed a Bank of America branch on the 2900 block of Atlantic Avenue. Ruiz-Rosa walked in the bank and handed the teller a note stating he had a gun and wanted cash, according to police.

Bank employees gave police a surveillance photo and at 10:50 a.m. an officer found Ruiz-Rosa near the intersection of Morris and Pacific Avenues, police said….
